Day Two

April Three, 2010
This morning I woke up around eight and stayed in bed for a while, just thinking. Around 8:40 I got up and read for about five minutes. My dad wanted to get an early start on my room, so I had breakfast (Delicious peanut butter toast!) and we went upstairs to get to work on my room. I was still in my warm flannel pajamas, but the weather took a turn for the worse overnight and heavy, humid clouds rolled in.
First I cleaned off all the surfaces of my junk and put it in two large banker's boxes so we could move everything. Then my dad helped me move some of my stuff into my mom's office, which is to be my temporary bedroom. My dad unscrewed my blinds and we got rid of the ugly ones and kept the slightly less-ugly ones. Then Dad lifted the bed and I pulled my rug out. We folded that up to get rid of it. After that we woke my brother Clark, who's sixteen, and his friend Dmitri, seventeen, to help us move the furniture. First the bed was moved to the middle. Since it was so dusty and gross under both the carpet and the bed, I went to get the vacuum and slucked up some of the dirt while Clark, Dmitri and Dad moved my bookshelf (To the outside of my parent's bedroom), dresser (next to my bed), and desk (on top of my bed). After that Dmitri and Clark left to do whatever it is crazy teenage boys do and my dad and I cleaned, roughed, sanded, swept, sanded some more, had a thirty-minute lunch break, sanded some MORE and finally cracked open two jars of paint. I painted my door (The same original color but a lot cleaner--It needed a new coat) while my dad started on what was supposed to be just an experiment to see if we needed to do any more sanding on my walls, but what turned out to be a full-fledged painting spree. By the time we were done, my walls were almost completely green (My new choice color) and much of the chipped paint was covered up. The ceiling has yet to be painted.
After that I took a shower (The paint on my fingers needed some working to get off) and read for awhile. Then we traveled into GR and had dinner at an Italian bistro. It was delish!!!
Now we're back and my mom is hurrying me to, well, hurry. We're about to let my dad open up his presents, so I have to wrap it up.
The weather was nice enough. It got rather cold and rained during the middle of the day, but it's cleared up, although it's still chilly and a little windy. Tomorrow's supposed to be warmer though.
CONNECTIONS
Emma: I thought about her at the Italian bistro. She LOVES pasta :). I texted with her about my room and the weather earlier too.
Anja: I can simply picture her in front of the White House. "Hey, what happens if I touch that fence?" BBZZZT! "Oops...."
Caitlin: Urghh. "My best friend went to Vegas and all I got was this boring Spring Break!"
Emily: I STILL haven't texted her. In the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Bee reminds me of her.
Well, my mom's getting even madder, so.... I'm off.
Stay tuned on the blog that no one's reading!!!
