Day One

April Two, 2010
This morning my mom woke me up at 7:30, when she went out to breakfast with my dad, because it's his birthday, because my riding lesson was at 9. I fell back asleep and woke up again at 7:57 because my mom called to make sure I was up. I didn't answer the phone, but the ringing woke me up. I panicked, pulled on my clothes and ate breakfast in a rush. My mom called again around 8:05, by which time I was eating breakfast, and told me she'd be home in about 15 minutes.
So we left for my riding lesson. The horse I ride, Dusty, was really good--We worked on jumping four 18-inch jumps in a row; A nice workout for the Dustbucket. We went back and I had a grilled cheese before collapsing on the couch and reading for a few HOURS. All right, yes, I was SUPPOSED to be, well, working on a project for my mom, but she was at a tennis lesson and the computer wasn't working. I get sucked in to my books. So I finished City of Secrets (That was a REALLY good series!) and started The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I'm already halfway through it. Then I did my mom's project. After that I surfed the Web and then cleaned my room, because tomorrow we're moving my furniture out of my room so that we can paint. Then, because I loved listening to music, I put my iPod on Shuffle, danced crazily around my room and daydreamed. Finally I got all hot locked up in there and went downstairs and read some more. Then the birthday-dad came home and I helped with dinner and read. Then I ate dinner with my family. It was the best dinner ever!! Burgers on the grill, with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Fresh strawberries, potato chips, and grilled asparagus! Mmmm. After dinner my dad and I went to Lowes and bought some stuff for my room, then I came back, read, was bored, and started this blog because I was going to email Emma.
CONNECTIONS
Emma: Last night I texted her and told her to have fun in Florida, and if she could get on Yahoo just to text me. I fell asleep, but found a text from her this morning: "Does that mean I can text you during the car ride?" I told her no. I'm almost to my limit of texting for the month. I remembered that she read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants while I started it. I wished she could get on Yahoo. I miss her. I can just imagine her down in Florida--Lucky!
Caitlin: The Duchessa of Bellezza in City of Secrets reminded me of her--She loves to dance and has two large African cats. She also pretends to be a boy so as to see Luciano Crinamorte, her fiancee.
Anja: Can you say "Empty hole in my chest because of the absence of a hyperactive bestie"?
Emily: I hope I can see her before I go. She was going to help me paint my room and then go swimming because we both got new swim suits. I looked up the pool's Spring Break hours today. I'll probably call/text her tomorrow.
*Sigh* More tomorrow! Hopefully my day will be more interesting.
I miss all of you, my friends scattered across the country.
~Madeline~
