April Six, 2010
I woke up in the middle of the night to loud lightning but barely any thunder. The next morning, however, it was a different story. I got up and started to have breakfast, and suddenly, out of nothing, out of NOWHERE, it starts POURING rain! And then these huge loud rumbles of thunder and cracks of lightning, and then these Nyquil-sized hailstones start coming down! It was totally insane. Oh my gosh. It stopped within about fifteen minutes, but we've been kind of soggy and rain-soaked ever since.
So then I just hung out and read. I keep trying to make myself do homework or read editing books for my novel, but I'm so sucked into the awesome book I'm reading right now (Kitty Kitty by Michelle Jaffe). It's the second book. You should totally read the first one (Bad Kitty). I'm really serious. Just go. Right. Now. Buy it. NOW.
Okay, anyway, then I talked with Emma for like two and a half hours on the computer. Apparently she's horribly sunburned. Poor Emma.
Then lunch. Our daily hike/jog got rained out. So we decided just to let our muscles relax and rejuvinate. On the bright side, I've been eating a ton healthier (No chocolate and hardly any sugar for three days!) and exersising more, and it's totally shown! I sleep better and later, and I feel so much better. Also, I've developed abs. It's nice.
My mom and I stopped by Blockbuster and got The Blind Side, then Fris to get some labels for this project I'm doing for her (More on that later - trust me, it IS relevant!). We went home and watched the Blind Side (GREAT movie!!!), then I went upstairs and did one of those pathetic attempts at being a good drawer that fell flat on its face, as always. Then, after eating dinner, I went to the computer and looked for the project as earlier mentioned.
All right, let me explain something. First part of the project: I had to copy and paste 500 libraries from a webpage into a word document. Second part of project: I had to copy and paste 500 libraries from a word document into a label template (Hence the purchased labels). The first time I tried to save it, it was half done, and the computer didn't save it. The night before, I'd started over, and in one 1 1/2 hour run, I finished it all. Unfortunately, when I tried to find it today it turns out this STUPID COMPUTER (about four years old and has been wiped out by a virus--TWICE. So yes. It's crappy) didn't save it. AGAIN. So I spent the whole night finishing the project. AGAIN. Luckily, my mom pays by the hour.
Then my dad and I painted and sanded some more. After that, I just flopped into bed. I was so exhausted it completely slipped my mind to do this blog! So now I'm doing it.
CONNECTIONS
Emma: Like I said, talked to her earlier.
Emily: When it started raining super duper hard, I remembered her because her basement always floods. The problem? She's not THERE right now. Good luck cleaning up that mess, bestie!
Caitlin: For some reason, every time I listen to the song "Fireflies" (which I do quite often--I'm listening to it right now!), I think of her. Hmmm.
Anja: I wonder if it's raining in D.C. Probably not.
Onto today's post!
